The Story
Cheeral Green began as a family home long before it became a homestay. This is the short version of how that happened.
Where It Starts
Long before Cheeral Green had a name, this was just home, a house on a hillside of coffee and pepper vines. The family has worked this land for generations, so growing up here meant knowing the trails before the highways.
That upbringing still shapes how Cheeral Green runs today: close to the land, and more interested in a good conversation over breakfast than in ticking boxes.
Before Cheeral Green
Before returning to open Cheeral Green, the family spent years living, working, and travelling outside Kerala. That time shapes how the homestay welcomes guests today. Full details on those years are being written up and will be added here soon.
Years Abroad
Living and working across different countries before returning to Wayanad. Full story coming soon.
What Came Back
Habits of good hosting, picked up from places that made travelling easy.
Why Wayanad
Because home was always going to be the hills, the farm, and this particular quiet.
Why We Opened Our Doors
Over the years we've opened this house to travellers who want to see Wayanad away from the crowded tourist spots, through home-cooked meals, quiet mornings, and evenings under a clear sky. That's still the idea behind Cheeral Green, whether you stay at the homestay or the villa.
Everything on the breakfast table (and most of what grows around the property) comes from our own organic, zero-cost farm. Ask about it, walk through it, or just sit with a coffee and watch the hills change colour through the day.
